Playing the Race Card Exhibition Project Launch October 2020

​On 30 October 2020 we celebrated the launch of Playing the Race Card.

 

The event featured live performances from local artists and tasty Caribbean treats from local restaurant Mama Putt's. The launch was an opportunity to learn more about the project and discover ways in which local artists could get involved in the Playing the Race Card Online Exhibition.

 

"We knew that all too often this phrase is used as a blunt tool to shut down dialogue. We hope that the Playing The Race Card project will open up the conversations that we have every day in our community and present an opportunity for an inclusive town-wide discussion," said Claudine Eccleston, project founder.
